Margaret McKinley Owens has loved supporting families adjust to life with a newborn since 2003. She embarked on a career as a postpartum doula shortly after the birth of her 2nd daughter. Margaret has been blessed with 4 healthy vibrant active children and one incredible angel. Margaret has been working with young children since 1997 and has truly found her calling becoming a Postpartum Doula. Margaret has supported over 700 families, helping families navigate life with their first child or their fifth. She has experience with singletons, tons of twins and even a handful of triplets. Margaret has had exposure to families with infants who have special needs, single moms by choice, same sex couples, families who have experienced loss, difficulty with fertility and adoption.
Margaret’s services as a postpartum doula or newborn care specialist have blossomed over the last few years as she sees the needs change of the families she has served. Her goal is to educate and empower the parents to be the experts of their own baby.
Margaret is a Certified Postpartum Doula since 2005 and a Certified Advanced Newborn Care Specialist since 2019. Margaret is the founder of Navigating Newborns and Co Owner with Sarah Miller. Margaret is also the Managing Partner or the Newborn Care Specialists Association (NCSA) International. The certifying body for all Newborn Care Specialists in the US and abroad.
